Spike. Serve. Support.

Join us for Spike ALS, a fun and spirited co-ed volleyball tournament that brings people together on and off the court for a cause that hits close to home

Whether you’re playing for fun or bringing your A-game, Spike ALS is about community, connection, and making an impact. Co-ed teams can register in either the recreational or competitive division, and every team is guaranteed at least three round robin games before playoffs.

All registered players and cheerleaders will enjoy a BBQ lunch, good music, and the kind of atmosphere that reminds you what teamwork really means—on and off the court.

Every serve, every spike, every laugh shared helps raise awareness, fund research, and support ALS families.

Why Play With Us?

ALS Double Play was founded by Cherrie-Marie Chiu after her brother, Christopher, was diagnosed with ALS at just 32 years old. Christopher was playing indoor beach volleyball when he first started noticing changes in his body—subtle signs that would later be recognized as the early symptoms of ALS.

As Cherrie-Marie and her family learned more about this devastating and fatal disease, she knew she had to take action. Christopher bravely faced ALS for five years before his passing, and in that time, he inspired a promise: that his story would be shared to raise awareness and fuel the fight to make ALS history. ALS Double Play exists to honour that promise—and to build a future filled with hope for every family facing ALS.

When you play in Spike ALS, you’re playing for more than just a game—you’re playing for change. ALS Double Play:

• Raises awareness about ALS to help more people understand the disease and its impact
• Supports ALS families through accessible mental health care
• Helps advance life-saving ALS research in Canada

Every serve, spike, and rally brings us closer to a world where no family has to face ALS alone—and where one day, no one will have to face it at all.
